ISH Smith knocked down the go-ahead triple with over 20 seconds lift the Detroit Pistons out of a five-slump and edge the Brooklyn Nets, 90-89, at the Palace of Auburn Hills on Thursday (Friday, Manila time).

Detroit lost a six-point lead with over four minutes remaining in the fourth as Brooklyn went on a 9-0 run and took control, 86-82, with 1:34 to go. Smith then took over with back-to-back baskets, none bigger than the triple that put the Pistons up for good, 87-86, with 28 ticks left.

Brook Lopez missed on his own three-pointer and Tobias Harris extended the lead to three with a pair of free throws. Jeremy Lin then turned the ball over in the next possession that spelled doom for the Nets, especially after Marcus Morris sank another free throw to seal the deal for the Pistons.

Morris led the way for the Pistons (35-41), 2.5 games behind 8th-seed Indiana Pacers in the East, with 28 points and 13 rebounds. Smith added 21 markers, while Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 12.

Lin and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson had 14 apiece to lead the last-place Nets (16-59). Lopez added 11 markers.
