CHICAGO Bulls star Derrick Rose said a sexual misconduct lawsuit filed by a former girlfriend was 'without factual basis.'

The lawsuit, first reported by TMZ Sports, was filed by a woman who alleged Rose and his friends slipped a drug into her drink and later committed sexual acts against her will in August of 2013.

The unidentified woman said she dated Rose from 2011 to 2013.

Rose's lawyer, Lisa Cohen, acknowledged that Rose and the woman were in a "consensual, nonexclusive relationship" but denied that sexual misconduct ever took place.

"I am not going to comment other than to say: I know the truth, and am confident I will be proven innocent," Rose said in a statement. "I am just focusing on staying healthy and getting ready for the season."

Cohen said the accusations were "completely false and without any factual basis." She added, "We have complete confidence that the case will be dismissed."
