DERRICK Rose had 19 points and the Knicks got solid support from the bench as New York beat the Orlando Magic 106-95 at Madison Square Garden on Thursday (Friday, Manila time) for its second straight win.
New York banked on a balanced attack to take down Orlando, with five other players aside from Rose in double figures. Carmelo Anthony had 15 points and eight rebounds for the Knicks. Reserves Willy Hernangomez and Kyle O’Quinn scored 15 and 14 markers, respectively, while Kristaps Porzingis added 12 points and four rebounds.
New York led for the most part of the game, building its biggest lead at 18, and was able to fend off the Magic’s comeback attempts with its subs providing quality minutes.
The Knicks also shot better from downtown with a 45 percent clip versus the Magic’s paltry 18.5 shooting percentage.
Serge Ibaka led the Orlando Magic with 23 points and 10 rebounds while Evan Fournier had 21 markers.
