THE Denver Nuggets erupted in the third quarter and edged out the Minnesota Timberwolves, 102-99, at the Target Center on Thursday (Friday, Manila time).

With a potent inside-out game between Danilo Gallinari and Jusuf Nurkic, the Nuggets outscored the Wolves, 33-14, in the third period to erase a 15-point second quarter deficit.

Minnesota rallied in the fourth quarter but Nemanja Bjelica missed from 25 feet and failed to force overtime.

Five players scored in double digits for Denver, led by Gallinari, who made four triples, and Wilson Chandler with 19 points each. Nurkic added 18 markers, while Jameer Nelson chipped in 14 off the bench and Emmanuel Mudiay scored 12.

Karl Anthony Towns had 32 points and 14 rebounds while Andrew Wiggins scored 25 for the Wolves, which gave up a lead of at least 15 points for the third time this season to fall to 1-3.
