NIKOLA Jokic flirted with a rare triple-double as the Denver Nuggets come back from 16 points down to defeat the Dallas Mavericks, 117-107, at the Pepsi Center on Monday (Tuesday, Manila time).

Jokic matched his career-high 27 points to go with 14 rebounds and nine assists in leading Denver to its third straight win, but it didn’t come easy against Dallas.

The Mavericks, behind Deron Williams and JJ Barea, started strong and stormed to a 48-32 lead early in the second quarter before the Nuggets fought back and managed to take a slim 60-58 advantage at the half.

After a 6-0 start for Dallas in the third, Denver took control and never relinquished the lead the rest of the way behind a balanced attack that also saw Gary Harris notch a career-best 24 points. The Mavericks only got as close as six as the Nuggets had a counter to every Dallas rally.
