THE NBA’s longest winning streak ended at 13 as the 76ers got double-digit scores from seven players to defeat the Miami Heat, 117-109, on Saturday night (Sunday, Manila time).

Robert Covington made five of six 3-pointers and finished with 19 points. Nerlens Noel had 19 points and four steals while Dario Saric added 19 points off the bench for the Sixers, who won their second game in a row and 20th for the season.

The Sixers were ahead, 100-89, with 7:04 left to play in the fourth quarter when the Heat went on a 7-0 run to close the gap to four, 100-96.

Covington buried a triple followed by a pair of free throws by Saric to give the Sixers some breathing space.

T.J. McConnell had 11 points and 10 assists for the Sixers. Gerald Henderson Jr. and Ersan Ilyasova scored 14 apiece.

The Sixers had a strong defensive effort, generating a season-high 15 steals and forcing 20 Miami turnovers while limiting theirs to just 10.

Philadelphia center Joel Embiid missed his ninth straight game and 12th in the last 13 due to a bone bruise on his left knee. Team president Bryan Colangelo also revealed before the game that Embiid has a slightly torn meniscus in the same knee.

Goran Dragic scored 30 points but committed seven turnovers for Miami whose run has placed the team in ninth place in the Eastern Conference and just 1 and a half games behind Detroit. James Johnson had 26 of the bench. Hassan Whiteside had 12 points and 19 rebounds.
