D’ANGELO Russell is looking to learn much about leadership and longevity and is hoping to get it from Lakers stars Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash.

“I’m trying to figure out their mentality with each practice and each game. How do they manage to be around the game for so long and be successful?” Russell told Mark Medina of LA Daily News.

“I want to learn how to stick around this league. I don’t think there’s a cheat code to it. But the sooner you find it out, the better you’ll be.”

The second pick overall in the NBA draft, Russell struggled in the Summer League, but is focused on improving as the Lakers enter training camp in a month.

Russell averaged 11.8 points on 37.7 percent shooting with 3.2 assists and 3.5 turnovers, but vowed to be better.

“I just want to be one of those guys that bring it when it matters.”
