D’ANGELO Russell is already dishing a valuable assist to potential teammate Ben Simmons even before the LSU forward's possibility of ending up with the Lakers as the second pick of the 2016 NBA Draft.
Simmons stars in a new Foot Locker commercial alongside NBA sophomores Karl-Anthony Towns, Devin Booker, and Russell, where the incoming rookie asks the three for advice on what to expect after being drafted.
But the Lakers point guard stole the spotlight with the most important lesson he learned from a tricky situation he went through last season. Watch:
Russell is obviously poking fun at the ill-advised prank he did on Nick Young last year, where the Lakers rookie secretly recorded his teammate who was talking about picking up girls.
He then posted the video online, which caused a stir in the NBA circles, straining Russell’s rep among his peers and eventually ending Young’s engagement with Iggy Azalea.
The Lakers point guard has learned his lesson well and is passing it along to Simmons, showing off his excellent form in hurling the phone in the process.
