DAMIAN Lillard doesn’t plan to go anywhere soon.
The Portland Trail Blazers superstar shot down a persisting trade rumor about his chances of going to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Marc Berman of the New York Post recently reported that if Lillard were to request a trade, “it’s believed the (New York) Knicks or Lakers would be his choices.”
But Lillard took to Twitter to quash those rumors.
Lillard, who turns 30 on July 15, has been happy in eight years in Portland, even signing a four-year $196-million super max contract extension that will run through until 2025.
The five-time All-Star is having his best season yet, averaging career-highs of 28.9 points on 45.7-percent shooting, and 7.8 assists per game in 58 games so far, hoping to lead the ninth-running Blazers to a spot in the playoffs when the season resumes.
Still, anything can happen in the future. And it’s intriguing to see Lillard forming a Big Three with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
