    Damian Lillard nails game-winning trey as Blazers stun Lakers to snap two-game skid

    DAMIAN Lillard hit the game-winning triple as the Portland Trail Blazers stunned the Los Angeles Lakers, 113-110, to snap a two-game skid on Thursday (Friday, Manila time) at the Moda Center.

    The Blazers started strong to lead by as much as 18, but the Lakers bounced back with an 18-10 spurt to end the second quarter and cut the deficit to four at the half, 66-62. Brandon Ingram then sparked an 18-8 start in the second half to take a 80-74 lead near the end of the third, before the Blazers made it a back-and-forth battle until the closing seconds.

    Lillard took over late to help the Blazers regain the lead and Jusuf Nurkic added two more free throws to put them up 110-107 with 18 seconds to go, but Kentavious Caldwell-Pope hit a triple on the next play to tie the game at 110 with 15 ticks left, setting the stage for Lillard’s game-winning three pointer with 0.7 remaining on the clock.

    Kyle Kuzma missed on the other end as the Blazers moved up to 5-4.

    Lillard had a game-high 32 points, while Nurkic and CJ McCollum chipped in 28 and 22 markers, respectively.

    Brook Lopez led the Lakers (3-5) with 27 points, and Kuzma added 22 off the bench. Ingram, Caldwell-Pope and Jordan Clarkson scored 14 apiece.
