THE Trail Blazers overpowered the New Orleans Pelicans in the middle quarters en route to a 119-104 victory on Friday in Portland (Saturday, Manila time).
Damian Lillard scored 27 points, whilc CJ McCollum added 24 as the Blazers outscored the Pelicans 69-49 in the second and third quarters to take control.
It was enough cushion for the Blazers as the Pelicans fought back in the fourth, trimming a 17-point deficit to four.
The Blazers held on to end a two-game slide and notch their ninth win in 18 outings.
The Pelicans saw their four-game win streak come to an end, even as Anthony Davis came up with another huge game with 31 points and 13 rebounds.
Jrue Holiday scored 16 and E’Twaun Moore had 15 as for the pelicans, who absorbed their 11th loss in 17 games.
