CJ McCollum hit the winning jumper at the buzzer as the Portland Trail Blazers survived a huge late rally by the Mavericks, 114-113, on Tuesday in Dallas (Wednesday, Manila time).
McCollum scored 32 points, making 13 of 21 field goal attempts, as the Blazers bounced back from a loss to the Denver Nuggets.
Damian Lillard came up with 29 points on 12 of 22 shooting as the Blazers notched their 23rd win in 53 outings.
Mason Plumlee had 12 points and 15 rebounds, while Al-Farouq Aminu also posted a double-double with 12 and 11.
The Mavericks, who fought back from 12 down to lead 102-101, absorbed their second straight loss and 32nd in 52 games.
Harrison Barnes scored 26 points, but it was Dirk Nowitzki who kept the Mavericks in the game with big baskets down the stretch.
Nowitzki hit two huge triples in the final 40 seconds, the last one putting the Mavericks ahead, 113-112, with three seconds left.
McCollum, however, made the 11-foot jumper to lift the Blazers to victory.
Nowitzki finished with 25 points, while Wesley Matthews scored 23.
