Warriors erase huge early deficit to beat Blazers and close in on sweep of first round playoff series

THE Golden State Warriors overcame a huge early deficit to defeat the Trail Blazers, 119-113, on Saturday in Portland (Sunday, Manila time) to close in on a series sweep.

Steph Curry led the late rally for the Warriors, who trailed 65-48 in the second but took charge halfway and held on for the victory in Game 3 of the best-of-seven Western Conference first round series.

The Warriors look to complete the sweep in Portland on Monday.

Curry scored 34 on 10 of 25 shooting including 5 for 14 from the 3-point line, while Klay Thompson went 8 for 21, making 4 of 9 three-point attempts, and wound up with 24 points for Golden State, which was still without Kevin Durant.

Andre Iguodala scored 16 while fellow reserve JaVale McGee added 14 points.

CJ McCollum scored 32 on 10 of 23 shooting, while Damian Lillard also shot 10 for 23 and wound up with 31 points for Portland.

Evan Turner scored 17, while Al Farouq Aminu came up with 14 points off the bench.
