    Cavaliers bounce back, knock down 19 triples to sink Suns to second straight loss

    THE Cleveland Cavaliers came out with guns blazing, knocking down 19 triples against Phoenix en route to a 118-103 win over the Suns at the Quicken Loans Arena on Thursday (Friday, Manila time)

    Kyrie Irving led the way with 26 points on 10-of-20 from the field and two treys, but it was the Cavs shooting from long range sank the Suns. Five Cleveland players drilled at least two treys, led by the five makes of Iman Shumpert. Channing Frye and James Jones stepped up their play without the injured Kevin Love as each had four three-pointers, while Kyle Korver added three triples as well.

    Shumpert knocked down two triples in a 20-11 run to close out the first quarter and the Cavs never looked back. Another 26-6 blitz near the end of the second quarter put Cleveland up by 21 points and took a 59-41 lead at the break.

    Eric Bledsoe took charge for Phoenix in the third with 16 points in the quarter and brought the Suns as close as 11 after trailing by as much as 23 early in the period. But back-to-back triples by Kyle Korver and Kyrie Irving doused the Phoenix rally.

    With the Suns within 12 past the midway point of the fourth, LeBron James took over in the quarter in sparking a 12-5 run to lead 116-97 into the final two minutes. James had 10 of his 21 points in the period after going scoreless in the third to keep the Suns at bay. He also fell a rebound shy from notching a triple-double as he ended up with 15 assists and nine boards.

    The Cavs improved to 30-11.

    Bledsoe and Tyson Chandler each had 22 points for Phoenix, who fell to 13-29 after their second loss in a row. Devin Booker added 21 markers mostly from free throws as he shot just 4-of-12 from the floor.
