C.J, MCCOLLUM scored 25 points and Damian Lillard added 20 as the Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Los Angeles Lakers, 108-87, for the 10th straight time on Tuesday (Wednesday, Manila time) at the Staples Center.
McCollum and Lillard have scored at least 25 and 20 points, respectively, for the sixth straight game but more than their offense, it was Portland's defense that forced the Lakers into another cold shooting performance, particularly after first half.
The Lakers led 57-55 at the half but only managed to score 30 points in the entire second half against the Blazers’ output of 53 markers.
Portland shot the ball at a 50.6 clip from the field and managed to hold the Lakers to 38.6 percent clip. The Blazers also dominated the boards 50-38.
Luol Deng was the only LA starter to reach double digits with 14 points. Rookie Brandon Ingram scored 11 points and Lou Williams added 10.
Lillard and D’Angelo Russell had a heated exchange of words in the 6:05 mark of the third quarter before calmer heads prevailed.
