THE Trail Blazers used a mini rally in the first period to take control and eased to victory over the suddenly skidding Cleveland Cavaliers, 102-86, on Wednesday in Portland (Thursday, Manila time).

Allen Crabbe led the way as the Blazers came up with a 10-2 tear in the last three minutes of the opening quarter for a 27-20 lead.

The Blazers never let up and scored their second straight win and 18th in 41 games.

CJ McCollu led the Blazers in scoring with 27 points on 11 of 20 shooting, while Crabbe finished with 24 points.

The Cavaliers, on the second night of a back-to-back, suffered their second straight loss after bowing to the Jazz.

LeBron James scored 20 on 5 of 12 shooting, Kevin Love went 5 for 15 and finished with 17 points, while Kyrie Irving came up with just 11 points, making 4 of 16 field goal attempts for Cleveland, which absorbed its ninth loss in 37 outings.

New-signing Kyle Korver remained winless as a Cavalier, going 1 for 5 in 25 minutes of action.
