CHRIS Paul will miss his third straight game due to a groin injury as the undermanned Houston Rockets clash with a shorthanded Boston Celtics side on Thursday (Friday, Manila time).

Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni expects Paul, who suffered a left adductor strain late in a loss to the Los Angeles Lakers last December 20, to return by Friday against the Washington Wizards or Saturday in a rematch with the Lakers.

Houston went 15-0 with Paul in the lineup before the loss to the Lakers, which also snapped a 14-game win run.

On a three-game slump heading to the duel with the Celtics, the Rockets will also miss Clint Capela, Luc Mbah a Moute and Troy Williams due to various injuries.

Boston will not have forwards Jaylen Brown and Semi Ojeleye for the second straight game.
