THE Chicago Bulls continue to miss the scoring of Derrick Rose, but what coach Fred Hoiberg stresses the team lacks now is solid defense.
The recently-tapped coach was disappointed with the way the Bulls defended in a 91-114 loss to the Detroit Pistons that put them at 2-3 for the preseason.
Hoiberg pointed to turnovers, discrepancy in fastbreak points and defending pick-and-rolls.
“We had a couple turnovers that were homeruns on the other end… they (Pistons) just consistently beat us down the floor,” said Hoiberg during the post-game conference. The interview video is on csnchicago.com.
“It was 24 to 9, I think, in fastbreak points in their favor and you know you just can’t do that, especially in your home building,” Hoiberg added.
“We weren’t getting back in transition, that’s the disappointing thing. That’s something that you should be able to take care of every night.”
