THE Boston Celtics found some rhythm and got a victory this time, getting past the Phoenix Suns, 117-103, in an NBA tuneup game on Sunday in Florida (Monday, Manila time).
Jaylen Brown led all scorers, delivering 21 points as the Celtics, still showing rust but making some big shots, bagged a win after bowing to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first scrimmage, 98-84.
Kemba Walker saw action after missing the first scrimmage with left knee soreness, going 2 for 6 and finishing with six points.
“We’ll go back and look and see if we’re playing better, but then it’s about getting better again tomorrow,” Celtics coach Brad Stevens said in a USA Today report.
“Some guys are showing some things that I think can make our best players better, and those will be the guys that end up in the rotation are the guys that can bring out the best in our best players.”
Boston next takes on the Houston Rockets before their first official game of the NBA resumption against the league-leading Milwaukee Bucks.
The Suns, who won their opening scrimmage against the Utah Jazz, 101-88, next face the NBA titleholders Toronto Raptors before their first match of the NB restart on Friday against the Washington Wizards.
