    OH the irony.

New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony has been selected to replace injured Cleveland Cavaliers big man Kevin Love for the NBA All-Star Game in New Orleans on Sunday (Monday, Manila time).

ESPN.com reported that Anthony accepted the offer to be part of the Eastern Conference lineup from NBA commissioner Adam Silver on Wednesday.

This will be the 10th All-Star appearance for the 13-year veteran.

"It means a lot," Anthony told ESPN. "Don't get me wrong, it's still an honor to be named to the All-Star team, to go out there and represent despite everything that's been going on, that's surrounding us, that's surrounding me, that's surrounding our organization. To still go out there and represent not just the organization, but New York City as a whole, it's still an honor to do that."

Love underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee on Tuesday and will miss six to eight weeks.

Rumors have circulated the past few weeks of the Knicks offering Anthony to the Cavaliers in exchange for Love. Sources said Cleveland has rebuffed the offer.
