Carmelo Anthony says he is ‘far from mad or upset,’ calls Knicks draft pick Kristaps Porzingis ‘a steal’

    Jun 28, 2015

A day after reports surfaced about Carmelo Anthony was displeased with recent player moves by the Knicks, the All-Star took to twitter to dispel rumors.

He even called fourth pick Kristaps Porzingis ‘a steal’.

ESPN’s Stephen Smith earlier said sources close to the 31-year old forward said the Knick’s top scorer was “furious” and “livid."

“(Anthony) feels completely hoodwinked and betrayed by Phil Jackson,” Smith said on a sports radio program.

“He feels like he was lied to… he didn’t know it was going to be like this. He didn’t know it was going to be this bad. And he can’t believe that his second season under the Phil Jackson regime, he has to look forward to it being worse than even last year was,” added Smith.

But Anthony responded to a twitter comment that called out Anthony, saying he was “too grown to be throwing tantrums” after Jackson’s player moves.
