Buyout not an option as Rockets look to trade John Wall

JOHN Wall is expected to be traded after a short stint with the Houston Rockets.

Signed for $91.7 million, including a player option of $47.4 million for the 2022-23 season, Wall is set to move to only his third team since being take first overall in the 2010 draft.

He turned 31 this month.

Wall was sent to the Rockets in December 2020 by the Washington Wizards for Russell Westbrook.

    After limited action the previous two seasons with the Wizards, Wall was able to play in 40 games for Houston.

    Bottom of the league last season at 17-55, the Rockets rebuild started taking shape when it acquired G League Ignite star Jalen Green second overall in the NBA draft.

    Wall will be part of camp but not expected to play again for the Rockets, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
