RANDY Foye beat the buzzer for the game-winning triple to cap Brooklyn’s late-game rally and stun the Charlotte Hornets for a thrilling 120-118 comeback win at the Barclays Center on Monday (Tuesday, Manila time).

Trailing by seven early in the fourth quarter, Brooklyn went on a 12-2 run midway through the period to grab a 104-100 lead. The Nets even led by six before the Hornets tied the game at 111 at the two-minute mark after a Nic Batum four-point play and a Cody Zeller layup.

Bojan Bogdanovic and Sean Kilpatrick hit consecutive triples on the Nets ensuing possessions to push the lead backup by four, 117-113, with 1:06 to go. Batum answered with a trey of his own to get within one, 117-116 with 30 ticks left.

After a Bogdanovic miss, Zeller gathered Kemba Walker’s blocked jumper to sink the putback to give Charlotte its last taste of the lead, 118-117, with just two seconds left to play. Still, it was enough time for Brooklyn to set up Foye’s only basket of the game off a pass from Bogdanovic.

Charlotte started out strong with a 13-2 run to take control midway through the first quarter, and even led by as much as 14 early in the third before Brooklyn came up with 15 unanswered points to take the momentary lead as the Hornets answered with a 9-0 run and led 90-83 with 11 minutes to play in the fourth.

Bogdanovic led Brooklyn with 26 points off the bench, 18 in the second half. Kilpatrick and Brook Lopez added 23 and 21 markers, respectively, as the Nets ended a five-game slump to win their eighth game in 30 outings. Jeremy Lin finished with 17 points before leaving the game in the third with a strained hamstring.

Batum had 24 to lead the Hornets, who had their three-game win streak snapped and fell to 17-14. Jeremy Lamb added 17 markers off the bench, while Walker and Zeller each scored 15.
