BRADLEY Beal scored 26 points and Markieff Morris added 20 points and 10 rebounds as the Washington Wizards overcame a slow start to score a 107- 101 win over a Milwaukee Bucks team that was missing star Giannis Antetokounmpo on Sunday (Monday, Manila time).
Jabari Parker brought the Bucks to within 104-101 with 1:05 left in the game. John Wall missed a jumper but the Wizards grabbed an offensive rebound. Otto Porter later inbounded the ball to a wide open Morris under the basket for two points with 27 seconds remaining.
Antetokounmpo, who is averaging 24 points a game, missed the game with an illness.
Milwaukee led by as many as 12 points, making 7 of 12 3-pointers in the first half and had a 57-49 halftime advantage. The Wizards also had 12 turnovers in the first two quarters.
The Wizards opened the second half with a 15-6 run to take a 64-63 on a dunk by Kelly Oubre who scored 10 of his 17 points in the third quarter.
It was the second straight win for Washington which has tied the Bucks with an 18-18 record.
Bucks coach Jason Kidd took responsibility for the loss and his team’s poor performance in the third quarter.
Parker had 28 points for Milwaukee which has lost two in a row. Malcolm Brogdon finished with a career-high 22 points and Michael Beasley scored 18 points in 16 minutes off the bench.
