HAS Kai Sotto stepped closer to becoming the first homegrown Filipino to make it to the NBA?
A window has seemed to open after the Orlando Magic waived center Bol Bol on Wednesday, Manila time.

The Magic made the announcement in a press release.
The 7-foot-2 Bol is coming off a solid season with the Magic, averaging career-highs across the board – 9.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.2 blocks, 1 assist, and 0.4 steal in 21.5 minutes over 70 games with 33 starts.
Still, the Magic declined to pick up their team option on the 23-year-old Bol for the second year of his contract after signing him to a two-year $4.4-million deal last offseason.
That leaves a roster spot open for players who can make an impression in the Summer League – whether form their own team, where Sotto plays, or from others’.
