BOBBY Ray Parks reached double figures in scoring for the first time in the NBA Summer League as he played his best game in Dallas’ 104-88 win over the D-League selection on Thursday (Friday Manila time) at the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas.
Parks scored 10 points while adding five rebounds, four steals, and one assist in 21 minutes and six seconds of play. He also shot 3-of-7 from the field and, for the first time in his campaign with the Mavericks, went perfect for the free throw line, making four attempts.
Parks converted his first basket in the game in style, scoring on a dunk with 4:11 left in the third and Dallas up, 69-60. With a big lead at hand for the Mavericks, Parks got to play even more in the fourth quarter.
The effort by Parks was a big follow-up to Wednesday’s tally where he scored his first field goal in his bid to play in the NBA this year through the Summer League.
Justin Anderson had 23 points, five rebounds, while Dwight Powell and Maalik Wayns had 22 points each for the 22nd-seed Mavericks, who advanced to the third round of the tournament play despite wounding up with a 0-3 record in the preliminaries.
