BLAKE Griffin posted a huge double-double to power the Los Angeles Clippers to an opening-game 114-106 win over the Trail Blazers on Thursday in Portland (Friday, Manila time).
Griffin scored 27 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in 36 minutes of action for the Clippers.
Chris Paul had 27 points, five assists and five rebounds as the Clippers stopped the Blazers, who were coming off a victory over the Utah Jazz.
Griffin played 37 minutes and made nine of 22 field goal attempts, while Paul went 9 for 19 in 33 minutes of action.
The Blazers were led by Damian Lillard, who had 29 points, while Maurice Harkless added 23.
