    Dec 11, 2013

AUSTRALIAN big man Aron Baynes received special attention for his contributions from the bench after the San Antonio Spurs waylaid the Toronto Raptors 116-103 for their sixth straight win on Tuesday night (Wednesday, Manila time).

Baynes, who finished with a career-high 14 points on 7 of 9 shooting, was singled out by All Star guard Tony Parker and coach Greg Popovich for his recent performance.

Manu Ginobili scored 16 points and Tim Duncan added 14 for the Spurs.

"Baynes did a great job. He hasn't played that much but he went down to the D-League and played a few games to stay in shape, kept himself ready and it showed tonight. He came in and did a really good job for us," Popovich said.

"Baynesie did a great job, both offensively and defensively," saidGinobili.

Toronto traded Rudy Gay, Quincy Acy and Aaron Gray to Sacramento last Monday and were still awaiting the arrival of replacements Chuck Hayes and Patrick Patterson and guards John Salmons and Greivis Vasquez.
