    Hawks cruise past slumping Nets to stretch win run to seven

    THE Atlanta Hawks had six players in double figures in to deal a wire-to-wire romp over the slumping Brooklyn Nets, 117-97, at the Barclays Center on Tuesday (Wednesday, Manila time).

    Dennis Schroder and Dwight Howard led the way with double-doubles apiece as the Hawks point guard had 19 points and 10 assists, while the Atlanta center had 14 points and 16 rebounds.

    Paul Millsap also scored 14, while Kris Humphries and Malcolm Delaney added 13 and 12 markers, respectively off the bench. Thabo Sefolosha also contributed 10 points to help the Hawks win their seventh straight game while extending Brooklyn’s losing slump to seven.

    Atlanta led from start to finish, beginning the pull away in closing the first half with an 18-8 run to turn a six-point first quarter lead to a 61-43 advantage at the half. The Hawks even led by as much as 26 late in the fourth before the Nets cut the lead down to 20 for the final score.

    Brook Lopez had 20 points for Brooklyn (8-29) and Bojan Bogdanovic added 16 markers. Sean Kilpatrick chipped in 14 off the bench.
