    Anthony Davis sets new NBA All Star record with 52 points as West downs East

    ANTHONY Davis set a record for most points in an NBA All Star Game, scoring 52 to power the West over the East, 192-182, on Sunday in New Orleans (Monday, Manila time).

    The New Orleans forward made it a double-double with 10 rebounds as the West posted three straight victories in the midseason spectacle.

    Wilt Chamberlain scored 42 in the 1962 event.

    Russel Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder scored 41 in an All Star game for the second time, going 16 for 26 shooting, including 7 of 13 from beyond the arc, before sitting out the final few minutes.

    Golden State teammates Kevin Durant and Steph Curry came up with 21 points each for the Western All Stars.

    First-time All Star Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks came up with 30 points on 14 of 17 shooting to lead the East.

    LeBron James went 10 for 17 and finished with 23 points, while Cleveland Cavaliers teammate had 22 points on 8 of 12 shooting including 6 of 8 from the 3-point line.
