THE Minnesota Timberwolves came up with solid play in the middle quarters and ripped the Utah Jazz, 107-80, on Wednesday in Salt Lake City (Thursday, Manila time).
Karl-Anthony Towns showed the way for the Timberwolves, who outscored the Jazz 30-19 in the second quarter and 30-18 in the third en route to their second straight win and fourth in their last five games.
Towns scored 21 points and hauled down 15 rebounds.
Andrew Wiggins scored 20 on 7 of 16 shooting, while Shabazz Muhammad came off the bench to score 18, making 7 of 12 field goal attempts.
Nemanja Bjelica had 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Ricky Rubio scored 11 and was an assist shy of a double-double as the Timberwolves notched their 25th win in 61 games.
The Jazz suffered their second straight loss and 24th in 61 outings.
Dante Exum came off the bench to lead the Jazz in scoring with 15 points, while Gordon Hayward scored 13 and Derrick Favors had 10 points and 12 rebounds.
