ANDREW Bogut is headed to Los Angeles after agreeing to a one-year deal worth the veterans minimum of $2.3 million with the Lakers, according to his agent David Bauman.

Bauman confirmed the news on Twitter on Monday (Tuesday, Manila time) and told The Vertical’s Shams Charania. Sources told ESPN that the free agent center agreed to a non-fully guaranteed deal.

The 32-year-old Bogut is coming off a disappointing season where he reached a buyout from the Philadelphia 76ers before joining the Cleveland Cavaliers, only to suffer a broken leg 58 seconds into his debut.

With Bogut now recovered from his injury, teams like the Minnesota Timberwolves, Boston Celtics and the Cavs again reached out to the free agent center. But Bogut chose the Lakers with head coach Luke Walton, who was an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors when the Australian big man won an NBA title, as the lead recruiter.
