ALLEN Iverson will be eligible for induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016.
That will be a year earlier than expected as the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame decided to disregard Iverson’s 10-game stint in the Turkish league after his NBA career.
Iverson left the Philadelphia 76ers early in 2010, but later in the year suited up for Besiktas in Turkey.
That stint would have pushed Iverson’s eligibility to the Hall to 2017.
"It's not a marketing decision," Hall president John Doleva told NBA.com. "It is a playing decision. It's a decision by the voting committee. It definitely is not a marketing decision."
