STEPHEN Curry shared a night to remember with a young fan and his family in Orlando.
The reigning NBA MVP scored 51 points against the Magic on Thursday night (Friday, Manila time) as he converted 20 field goals, 10 of them from beyond the arc, and was in a celebratory mood after 130-114 Golden State Warriors victory at the Amway Center.
A video posted by House of Highlights on the social media site Instagram shows Curry as he walked off the court in his socks after the game. Curry talked to a member of the arena staff, to whom he handed over his game-worn sneakers and pointed to someone in the stands.
The staff member gave the shoes to a young boy wearing a replica of Curry’s Warriors road jersey and was holding aloft a sign that read “Curry 30 IT’s MY BIRTHDAY” while a grown up by his side, presumably his father, held another placard that read, “CAN I HAVE YOUR SHOES? I’M YOUR # 1 FAN!”
The pair of Under Armour Curry Two signature shoes were both autographed and contained a message: “I can do all things” on the midsole, a reference to the biblical verse Philippians 4:13. The 27-year old Curry is a devout Christian who has used his popularity to share his faith and beliefs in his basketball career.
