SIXTH-seeded Busan KCC Egis stole Game 1 of the Korean Basketball League best-of-three quarterfinal series from Wonju DB Promy, 81-78, on the road on Monday.
Locked in a tight contest that stood at 71-all in the fourth quarter, Busan unleashed a decisive 7-2 run to seize control and ultimately close it out.
William Navarro did not see action for Egis, but Busan still moved within one win of setting up a semifinal clash with Rhenz Abando’s Anyang KGC.
On the other side, Ethan Alvano’s all-around effort of 22 points, seven rebounds, and five assists went to waste for Wonju.
With their season on the line, Wonju will look to respond in Game 2 on April 15, while Busan aims to complete the sweep.
