Games on Sunday

2 p.m. – Malacanang-PSC vs GSIS
3:30 p.m. – Senate vs PDEA
5 p.m. – NHA vs AFP
STREAKING National Housing Authority (NHA) and two-time champion Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) hope to secure one of two outright semis berths when they clash on Sunday in the 6th UNTV Cup at the Pasig City Sports Center.
Coming off a come-from-behind win over the Senate Defenders last Sunday, the NHA Builders are slightly favored over the AFP Cavaliers when they clash at 5 p.m.
Since both NHA and AFP are sporting similar 7-1 records, expect a wild finish as the annual tournament for public servants enters its crucial stage where teams are jockeying for better positions.
“Our win last time was a big one, we hope can sustain the momentum,” said coach and former University of Santo Tomas hotshot Benet Palad.
Expected to lead the Builders are Alvin Vitug, Tony Lustestica and John Dizon while ex-Letran star Boyet Bautista spearheads AFP’s assault along with Jerry Lumongsod and Willy Casulla, Jr.
Meantime, the Defenders hope to get back on the winning track when they tangle with the PDEA Drugbusters at 3:30 p.m. while the GSIS Furies collide with the Malacanang-Philippine Sports Commission Kamao at 2 p.m.
Despite absorbing a 90-82 setback to the Judiciary Magis, the Furies (5-3) are confident they can beat the Kamao who are toting a 5-2 record in the tournament organized by UNTV president and CEO Daniel Razon.
The chosen charity of the champion team will get P4 million while the charity picked by the runner-up receives P2 million.
