CITY University of Pasay guard Rutger Acidre died on Wednesday night a week after suffering gunshot wounds in an attack by an unknown assailant in Sto. Nino, Pasay City.
Acidre and girlfriend Doris Sara Besana came under attack on October 24. Besana passed away a day after, while Acidre died on Wednesday. He was 24.
“Rutger was gunned down together with his girlfriend and both did not make it,” the NAASCU said in its official Facebook page. CUP is a member of the school league.
“Let us pray for those they left behind and that justice be served.”
Acidre is the younger brother of current Bacoor Striker and former Arellano star Rocky Acidre. He was a part of the NBA 3x3 Philippines men’s Open Division champion team from 2013-16.
