MUNTINLUPA defeated Paranaque, 81-70, on Tuesday night to advance into the finals of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Anta-Rajah Cup at the Muntinlupa Sports Complex.

The Cagers ruled the final match of their best-of-three semifinal series to arrange a finals meeting against the Batangas City Athletics. Game One of the best-of-five finals series begins on Thursday at the Batangas City Coliseum.

Chito Jaime had 22 points, while Allan Mangahas added 18 points for the Cagers as the two led the way in a pivotal fourth quarter run that sealed the win.

Jaime and Mangahas scored in Muntinlupa’s 10-2 run that broke a 63-63 deadlock in the fourth period.

Muntinlupa spoiled the efforts of Paranaque’s Harold Arboleda, who finished with 18 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, three steals, and two blocks.

Batangas City holds the homecourt advantage in the series with the first two games and the final game of the series, if necessary, to be played at the Batangas City Coliseum.
