THERE will be no Greg Slaughter for the Manila SV Batang Sampaloc in its do-or-die Game 2 match against Caloocan in the quarterfinals of the MPBL Season 6.
The league denied Slaughter and Manila’s appeal to lift the one game suspension meted on the 7’0 center after two flagrant foul infractions in the Stars’ 79-78 loss to Batang Kankaloo last Saturday.

This comes after he was caught elbowing Joshua Flores in the second quarter, and slapping Romel Calahat in the fourth period of that heated game prompting his ejection and eventual suspension.
Slaughter had 16 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.
In a letter to Manila team manager Adoe Kristov Salazar, league technical head George Magsino explained that only technical fouls are appealable, because these usual fouls are of ‘no contact.’
Given that both Slaughter’s infractions are physical, with his first flagrant foul deemed above shoulder no less, the suspension on the former PBA Best Player of the Conference was upheld.
Now, Manilenos will have to rally behind their home team as they face the dangerous Batang Kankaloo without their anchor this Saturday at the San Andres Gym in Manila.
