PLAYOFF-bound Abra flaunted the depth of its roster in a 129-68 dumping of also-ran Bicolandia on Tuesday in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) elimination round at the WES Arena in Valenzuela City.
With all their 15 players scoring, the Weavers cruised to their 17th win against 10 losses and tied the Pasay Voyagers at the sixth and seventh spot in the North Division of the 29-team tournament.
Roi Sumang paced Abra with 21 points, nine assists, three steals and three rebounds to earn best player honors.
Other Weavers who shone were John Lloyd Clemente with 16 points, Will Keane Lee with 12 points, Jeepy Faundo with a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Wendel Comboy with 10 points.
Bicolandia, which dropped to 3-24, got 23 points and five rebounds from Shaq Alanes.
In a clash between eliminated teams, Pangasinan trounced Sarangani, 88-70, and climbed to 12-15.
Pangasinan was powered by Jeff Comia with 12 points, and Ralph Robin and Nat Cosejo with 10 points each.
Sarangani skidded to 5-21 despite the 16-point, sever-rebound effort of Lance Christian Sanga and Jess Diputado’s 12 points.
The MPBL resumes on Friday at the Caloocan Sports Complex with games pitting Bacolod against Imus at 4 p.m., Pasay against Nueva Ecija at 6 p.m., and San Juan against Caloocan at 8 p.m.
