ANOTHER champion coach is set to take the helm of the WMPBL.
Mau Belen, who became the first woman deputy coach in the PBA and later steered the TNT franchise into being a dominant force in the PBA 3x3 circuit, has been named the new commissioner of the women’s side of the pro league founded by boxing legend Manny Pacquiao.

The founder of Halfcourtgroup 3x3, Belen takes over the post vacated by former national team coach Haydee Ong.
The appointment of Belen is on interim basis at the moment.
"Just say like in any relationship, it's like a testing period (muna)," Belen reasoned out,
Belen said she accepted the job in order to continue the gains made by women’s pro basketball in the country.
“We can’t stop the train from moving just because the driver decided to step down off the train,” said Belen, former team captain of Assumption College.
Belen leads the opening ceremony of the WMPBL second season this Sunday at the Alonte Sports Complex.
