JOSEPH Terso struck the hardest as Davao Occidental nipped Pasig, 79-78, in overtime on Friday in the MPBL 2025 Season at the Calasiao Sports Complex in Pangasinan.
The former National University Bulldog tied the count at the end of regulation play then scored all of Davao's six points in extra time to lift the Tigers to their second win in three starts in the round-robin elimination round of the 30-team tournament.
Terso takes charge
Terso, whose layup capped an 8-point windup by the Tigers in the last 1:55 minutes of regulation, wound up with 19 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Jefferson Comia added 17 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.
Other Tigers who delivered were Terrence Tumalip with 8 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals, and homegrown Jansher Salubre with 8 points and 4 rebounds.
Pasig which wasted a 55-38 spread midway through the third period, suffered its second straight defeat after winning the first two.
The Pasiguenos had a chance to reverse the outcome but veteran Chito Jaime's 3-point shot with 4.4 seconds left in the extension fell short.
Pasig got 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists from Robbie Manalang, 11 points each from Jacob Galicia and Mark Montuano, and 10 points from Jaime.
The MPBL proceeds to The Capital Arena on Saturday with games pitting Quezon Province against Manila at 4 p.m., Pasay against Batangas at 6 p.m., and Gensan against host Ilagan Isabela at 8 p.m.
