DAVE Ildefonso once again led the way as Abra claimed leadership in the MPBL 2025 Season by dominating Ilagan Isabela, 76-59, on Saturday at the Lucena Convention City Center.
The second-generation cager finished with 20 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two steals to push the Weavers to their 22nd win against one loss.
Mike Ayonayon added 11 while John Uduba was a monster off the boards as he finished with 16 rebounds that gave Abra a pivotal 56-37 edge off the boards in the game.
The win pushed the Weavers half a game ahead of fellow North Division powerhouses San Juan and Nueva Ecija who are both toting 21-1 records.
Cebu keeps MPBL playoff hopes alive
Cebu, on the other hand, continued its run with an 87-71 win over Bulacan in the opener.
Former UP stars Paul Desiderio and Jun Manzo conspired in the win, with the former finishing with 24 points, seven rebounds and four assists and the latter adding 16 points.
The win kept the Greats in the hunt for a playoff seat as they took their fourth straight win and improved to 9-15.
Bulacan, on the other hand, dropped to 3-20. The MPBL returns to the Alonte Sports Arena on Monday with games pitting Paranaque against Valenzuela at 4 p.m., Pangasinan against Pasig at 6 p.m., and host Binan against Caloocan at 8 p.m.
