THE Mindoro Tamaraws gored the Manila Batang Quiapo, 95-56, on Thursday to regain their footing in the MPBL 2025 Season at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay.
Powered by Axel Inigo, the Tamaraws led throughout and by as many as 93-54 in posting their sixth win against seven losses in the round-robin elimination phase of the 30-team tournament.
Inigo, a former star guard of Far Eastern University, poured a career-high 28 points, laced by eight triples, five rebounds and five assists to help Mindoro recover from a 75-82 beating dealt by Cebu on May 16.
Other Tamaraws who delivered were Wendel Comboy with 11 points and six assists and Jun Manzo who drained three treys to finish with 10 points.
Resorting to gang rebounding, the Tamaraws ruled the boards, 57-37, and converted it to 44 points in the paint against only 24 for the Batang Quiapo.
Manila, which absorbed its 11th straight defeat after an initial win, got 13 points, five rebounds and three assists from John Ashley Faa, 10 points from Achie Inigo, Axel's older brother, and Richard Albo with 10 points.
The MPBL returns to the Caloocan Sports Complex on Friday with games pitting Abra against Paranaque at 4 p.m., Zamboanga against Pampanga at 6 p.m., and Caloocan against Imus at 8 p.m.
