BACOLOD continued to retool in the extended offseason, further shoring up its guard rotation with the acquisition of former PBA players JK Casino and Cyrus Tabi.

Casino last played for TNT where he netted 10 points, six assists, and five rebounds in the 21 games he appeared in his sophomore season.

The 5-foot-10 playmaker out of Centro Escolar University was picked in the fourth round of the 2017 PBA Draft by Phoenix but was later on picked up by Rain or Shine before going to the KaTropa this past year.

Tabi, meanwhile, played sparingly for Columbian, posting a total of four points, three dimes, and two boards across the seven games he saw action.

The Dyip picked the Rizal Technological University product in the second round of the 2018 PBA Draft.

Also set to join Bacolod is New Era University's Jeff Comia.

"Ang maganda talaga ang pinakita para sa akin is si Comia, talagang future ng basketball. Hindi ko alam kung bakit hindi naglalaro yung bata, pero sobrang galing pala nung batang yon,” said coach Vic Ycasiano of the 6-foot Comia.

Also part of the revamp are the entries of Jason Strait, former General Santos-Burlington marksman Jeramer Cabanag, and Mindoro-JAC Liner big man Sandy Cenal.

Retained are Simon Camacho and Jeff Javillionar, while the team is still re-negotiating with homegrown guard Pao Javelona.

They all join the returning Mac Tallo in Bacolod.

With the changes, Ycasiano is confident that the Master Sardines-backed team can make a dent next season, especially after his side's 11-19 record this past Chooks-to-Go MPBL Lakan Cup and missed out on the South Division playoffs.

"This team’s all about defense, our offense will be our defense," he said. "This will be a run and gun team just like my team in STI, it’s basically the same. Yun ang itatakbo ko, it’s a young team that would excite MPBL fans."

"We’ll be there next season, definitely, this will be a team to be reckoned with. This will be a totally different Bacolod team. That’s the main thing, we’re eyeing for the playoffs next season. From there, we’ll see. But definitely that’s what we’re eyeing, to make it to the playoffs."
