MANUEL L. Quezon University beat St. Dominic Savio College, 71-68, in Game Two recently to claim the 6th Universities, Colleges, and Schools Athletic Association (UCSAA) men's basketball crown at the Casa Milan gym.
The Jino Manansala-coached Stallions leaned on Ron Pangan, who had 11 points and 15 rebounds, to complete the sweep of the best-of-three finals series.
Pangan also led the way for the Stallions in their 80-74 win in Game One after finishing with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
It was the fourth title this year for Manansala, who also won the Milcu Got Skills and the Naascu seniors and juniors crown this year for St. Clare College.
Manansala said MLQU will join the PBA D-League in 2017, hoping to gain a respectable campaign in the developmental league following their title victory in the UCSAA.
The Stallions posted a 10-2 record to top the elimination round, and beat De La Salle Araneta in the Final Four to reach the championships series.
