HOPING to build more champions, Milo Philippines launched Champ Camp and Barangay Liga to continue its advocacy in encouraging the youth to get into sports.

Champ Camp, which will kick off in June, aims to teach over a million children the basics of basketball, volleyball and football in 300 public schools all over the country.

“The main objective is to get public shcools students into sports and hopefully they learn different values out of it,” said Kevin Mauricio, Milo Consumer Marketing Activation Executive.

Meanwhile, the Barangay Liga will rehabilitate sports facilities in 100 communities spanning from Baguio to General Santos City.

The improvements include repainting and restoration of basketball courts, supplying brand new sports equipments, medals and trophies for the culmination of the tournaments.

Barangay Liga kicked off on mid-March and is set to end late April to May.

“‘Yung na-identify kasi naming mga barriers of parents getting children into sports is kulang ang mga safe places to play,” said Lester Castillo, Milo Sports Executive.

“So by refurbishing the basketball courts, hopefully at the barangay level, ma-encourage nila ang mga anak nila to join sports, ‘yung mga liga nga sa mga barangay,” he added.
