CHICAGO - It's about damn time.
After some 622 days in the US where he settled while mired in a contractual dispute with his former PBA team, Mikey Williams is back in the Philippines to reprise his role as a basketball star.
This time, though, the former TNT juggernaut will don the colors of Strong Group Athletics in the upcoming 34th Dubai International Basketball Championships from January 24 to February 2.

Williams arrived in Manila from Los Angeles around 7 a.m. on Tuesday and went straight to SGA team practice at the Gatorade Hoops in Mandaluyong after a quick pit-stop to check-in at a swanky hotel.
"He's in shape. I appreciate him coming to practice right away despite landing early this morning," an ecstatic SGA coach Charles Tiu said. "It's all business for him, he's ready to get to work."
Although SGA already parades a slew of stars such as former NBAers DeMarcus Cousins and Andray Blatche, Jason Brickman and Malachi Richardson plus locals Rhenz Abando, Dave Ildefonso and Allen Liwag, among others, the mood around SGA with Mikey on board is electric.
"We want to put the best team out there. We want to give our best to the fans, so hopefully, with the added firepower we have enough to win this time around," said team manager Jacob Lao.
