THREE weeks since he first joined the national team's training, import Mike Myers can finally say he's gotten the hang of playing with his Gilas teammates.

Myers said he feels at ease now and that will go a long way in Gilas Pilipinas' title-retention bid in the William Jones Cup which starts on Friday in Chinese-Taipei.

"I feel we're very prepared for this Jones Cup. We've been working hard," said Myers after Gilas wrapped up its last practice at the Meralco Gym on Thursday before leaving for Taipei.

Myers will go to war with rising stars Kobe Paras, Kiefer Ravena, Bobby Ray Parks Jr., as well as cadets like Jio Jalalon, Kevin Ferrer, Ed Daquioag, and Matthew Wright.

Asked if he's pressured to lead the young team to no less than a championship in the Taipei showpiece, the former Maryland Eastern Shore standout smiled before giving a curt reply.

"(No) I've been in this situation before," said the soft-spoken cager.

Although they are parading a youthful lineup in Taipei against the likes of Canada, South Korea, and Iran, the 6-foot-8 native of Camden, New Jersey said he has faith in the Filipino dribblers.

"I have a lot of confidence in the young guys," he said. "I'm very confident. We worked very hard so our confidence is high."

Gilas begins its campaign against Canada on Saturday.
