MIGHTY Sports beat Blackwater, 106-99, on Saturday night in a tune-up game at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
Lamar Odom had five points in the game but showed his other aspects of his game particularly his passing skills in his first tune-up game with the team.
Justin Brownlee also spearheaded a run in the second quarter scoring a dunk in a run that put Mighty Sports ahead, 44-34.
Mighty Sports played a tune-up game against Blackwater as part of its preparation for the Dubai International Basketball Tournament.
Mighty Sports coach Charles Tiu is happy with the performance of the team in the tune-up game despite the limited time in their preparations.
“I’m happy with how the result turned out but there is still a lot of work to do,” said Tiu. “Malayo pa from where we want to be. Honestly, it’s better than what I expected.”
Mighty’s third import Randolf Morris also saw action for the team inspite of jetlag he is still battling after arriving in the country recently, while Juan Gomez de Liano and Fil-American Jeremiah Grey also made solid contributions in the match.
